Ann Arbor's annual Earth Day Festivalwill take place on April 28th at the Leslie Science and Nature Center. 89.1 WEMU's Jorge Avellan tells what what attendees can expect.
The free event will feature displays from over 40 local environmental, nonprofit, and governmental organizations. The goal is to educate the public on how to strive for zero waste.
Jenny Petoskey is a spokesperson for the festival's planning committee.
"We're going to have exhibits there talking about compost and doing some compost demonstrations. So, there is a lot of opportunity to learn what an individual could do to help with climate change and sustainability."
The festival will also feature hands-on-activities and live entertainment. As part of Earth Day activities in April, the Matthaei Botanical Gardens at the University of Michigan also has a fairy garden on display.
