The annual “Taste of Ann Arbor” event, which starts today, May 29th and ends May 31st, has a different look this year because of COVID-19.
Curbside pick-up service will replace the in-person event held on Main Street and Liberty. Sandra Andrade is the executive director of the Ann Arbor Main Street Area Association and says restaurants will offer different options when it comes to curbside pick-up.
Sandra Andrade: Some of them even have numbered parking spaces that you go to when you pull up into. And somebody will put it in your car or they will have a table out front and they will leave it there, and then when they walk away, you go pick-up the food.
About 20 restaurants are participating in the event that usually attracts 40 vendors. To encourage residents to participate, the association has contests on their social media accounts for gift certificates to local restaurants. Visit the association’s website for more information.
