Community Advisory Group Preparing Report In Sha'Teina Grady El Case
The Community Advisory Board for Law Enforcement, also known asCABLE, is in the process of preparing a report on feedback they received from the community in the Sha’Teina Grady El case.
The report will summarize public comment CABLE collected earlier this year on what steps Washtenaw County should take after a sheriff’s deputy was recorded punching Grady El while arresting her in Ypsilanti Township in May. Justin Hodge is chair of CABLE, an independent board affiliated with Washtenaw County.
Justin Hodge: There were some recommendations about changes in use of force policy, changes in body-cam policy.
CABLE hopes to release the report to the public and the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office this fall. Meanwhile, the state’s Attorney General’s Officeis reviewing the Grady El case to determine if charges need to be filed against any of the parties involved.
