When the Ann Arbor city council meets tonight, there will be two recently added resolutions on the agenda concerning the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority.

Kathy Griswold, along with councilwoman Anne Bannister, are the council members who are sponsoring the resolutions.  WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with Kathy Griswold about her intentions concerning the DDA and what she hopes the resolutions will bring about.

Kathy Griswold says the goal of the resolutions asking the Ann Arbor city council to "consider" dissolving the DDA is more of a “fact-finding exercise,” acknowledging it would take years to actually make it happen.  Griswold says they would like to "have a transparent process engaging the community in learning more about the DDA in determining what is the best path forward."

Griswold said she apologizes for any “drama” the resolutions may have stirred up in the city.  Several Ann Arbor organizations, including the Main Street Area Association, issued statements over the weekend in support of the Ann Arbor DDA.
