Cases Of Coronavirus Identified In Washtenaw County

US State Department

Two potential cases of coronavirus have been identified in Washtenaw County.

The county health department is calling them both “presumptive positive” until they can be tested and confirmed.

The two individuals have been isolated, and Washtenaw Health officials are currently working to identify others who may have been exposed to the disease.

As an additional precaution, the Washtenaw County Health Department is also asking anyone who was at the following locations, at these specific times to watch themselves for symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Monday, March 9 - The Detroit Metro Airport’s North Terminal from roughly noon to 1 pm.
  • Monday, March 9 - The Hair Spot, on North Maple Road in Ann Arbor from 5:15 to 5:45 pm
  • Monday, March 9- Ann Arbor YMCA on North Washington, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.

Health officials say routinely washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, covering your mouth when you cough, and staying home if you start to feel sick are still the best ways to the best way to protect yourself and help prevent coronavirus from spreading.
