In-Person Voter Registration Now Required For November 3rd Election

Wiki Commons

We’re now officially in what’s considered the late voter registration period for the November 3rd general election.

Anyone who still needs to register to vote in the general election must do so in person at their city or township clerk’s office.  Washtenaw County Director of Elections Ed Golembiewski says the deadline to register online was October 19th.  He adds that you will need to present certain documents when you register in person.

Ed Golembiewski: They will need to show proof of residency, that’s typically accomplished by providing a Michigan driver’s license or state ID with their current address on it, or a utility bill or a bank statement.

Golembiewski says the State of Michigan now allows voter registration on Election Day.  Currently, over 316,000 people are registered to vote in Washtenaw County.
