1st Friday Focus on the Environment: MI Senator Elissa Slotkin on the politics of environmental policy in 2026
The federal administration is cutting environmental programs and funding and further reducing regulations on polluting. The political environment in Washington, in and of itself, is toxic. On the February edition of WEMU’s "1st Friday Focus on the Environment," WEMU's David Fair and Michigan League of Conservation Voters executive director Lisa Wozniak were joined by Democratic Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin to discuss policy and politics.

Levi Stubbs, Gave Voice To Emotion
Stubbs gave voice to emotion — to love, to hurt, to desire, to loneliness. Songs like "I Can't Help Myself," "Reach Out, I'll Be There" and "Baby I Need Your Lovin' " made him one of Motown's most recognizable voices. He died Friday in Detroit.

Issues of the Environment: Ann Arbor Community Climate Action proposal overwhelmingly approved by voters
The results of last night's midterm elections results weren't complete until about 10am Wednesday morning. At that point, the writing was on the wall, and it was pretty clear Ann Arbor's Community Climate Action ballot proposal was going to pass. Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor, who has won re-election himself, joined WEMU's David Fair to discuss what happens next on "Issues of the Environment."

When we hear the term "technology-based arts," it always seems like a brand new artform. Truth is, it’s been around for decades, though it is constantly evolving. On this edition of "creative:impact," alvin hill, an Ann Arbor-based techno-artist, joins host Deb Polich.
