YCS Offering New Online Summer Learning Program

Ypsilanti Community Schools

In addition to its virtual summer school, Ypsilanti Community Schools is now offering a new online summer learning program.

The K-12 program is open to all district students for non-credit who want additional math and literacy projects.  The self-directed projects, which include a book reading challenge and math projects three times a week, are designed to provide academic structure to students during COVID-19.  Dr. Carlos Lopez is the district’s assistant superintendent.

Assistant Superintendent Lopez: Routines are very very important for young people, and so, in essence this gives them an opportunity to not be disconnected when they come in the fall, they have a smoother transition.

The program will be available through July 30th.  Registration is through the district’s website.
