Due to COVID-19, the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor has changed how it will serve Thanksgiving dinner this year to those in need.
Instead of hosting its usual, sit-down dinner at its Platt Road location, the church has partnered with the Delonis Center in Ann Arbor to provide hot turkey meals to anyone in need. Pastor Shaun Garth Walker says social distancing guidelines will be used as the food is served in the parking lot of the shelter on West Huron Street from 12 pm-3 pm on Thanksgiving Day.
Pastor Shaun Garth Walker: Holidays could be a really lonely time of year and if us handing out some food helps kind of negate some of that loneliness, and remind people that they’re not alone and that we care for them, we’ll be very humbly excited to be able to do that.
In Ypsilanti, the Hope Clinic will also provide grab-and-go Thanksgiving meals to anyone in need on Thursday, November 26th between 5 pm and 6 pm. Residents can pick up the meals by the front door of the building on Harriet Street. The Hope Clinic will also distribute hand warmers, hats, and gloves to those waiting in line.Non-commercial, fact based reporting is made possible by your financial support.
