With an increase in COVID-19 cases, as of now, Ann Arbor Public Schools plans to continue using a virtual learning model.
District Superintendent Dr. Jeanice Swift says there is a possibility that the district may offer in-person instruction options before the end of the school year. But, as of now, the number of positive cases in our area are too high to reopen school buildings. Earlier this month, nearly 130 local physicians and pediatric providers advised the district to allow in-person instruction. Dr. Swift explains how often the district monitors the situation in Washtenaw County.
Dr. Jeanice Swift: The district has set a week-by-week update on this because we absolutely want to watch the progress week-by-week. So, that we can step-in and move forward just as soon as we see a decrease in this level of community spread.
