Ann Arbor Indivisible and its community allies plan to congregate outside downtown Ann Arbor for a May Day Rally and March.

District 8 Washtenaw County Commissioner Yousef Rabhi and American Federation of Government Employees Union President at Local 3907 Tricia Paff will be joining Ann Arbor Indivisible for their May Day protest.

Ann Arbor Indivisible organizer Gus Teschke says the protest is calling out the Trump administration for its immigration policies and continued federal cuts. He says it only takes a small number of the population to participate in resistance action efforts to challenge the legitimacy of an authoritarian figure.

“If you recruit enough people, you can stop even somebody who wants to be a dictator. The number is 3.5% organized and effective that you can overthrow a dictator.”

May Day protestors will start marching from West Park outside downtown Ann Arbor to City Hall on East Huron beginning this Thursday at 4 PM.
