A spokesperson for the pro–Palestinian TAHRIR Coalition claims the Michigan Attorney General’s office is targeting pro-Palestinian protestors.

The Michigan Attorney General’s office says last week’s FBI raids in southeast Michigan were part of a year-long investigation into “coordinated and related” acts of vandalism at the homes of University of Michigan administrators and an Ann Arbor police officer.

But a University of Michigan student and spokesperson for TAHRIR Coalition, who spoke to WEMU on condition of anonymity, says it’s about shutting down free speech.

“The Democrat AG and Democrat Board of Regents have no problem working with fascism to serve their own ends. They’re going out of their way to unjustly assault and repress pro-Palestinian speech and activism on campus.”

Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office says the search warrants had nothing to do with protest activity on campus.
