Nick Alderink
Cinema Chat co-hostNick Alderink is the Cinema Program Director for the Michigan and State Theatres in Ann Arbor, where he has dedicated the past decade of his career. A proud graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in film studies, Nick's journey began fresh out of college selling popcorn and immersing himself in the magic of movies. From those early days, he steadily worked his way up through the ranks to his current position.
As the curator of two iconic, historic theaters, Nick is responsible for bringing an exciting mix of films to the big screen. He also helms the Cinetopia Film Festival, bringing “the best films from the world’s best film festivals” to downtown Ann Arbor.
The greatest joy of his work is the opportunity to share his passion for cinema with audience, whether introducing timeless classics or the latest indie gems. And he takes pride in having an office within the walls of such a storied institution, where every day is a celebration of film and its power to inspire and connect.
