You’ve heard of the wage and income gap that exists in Washtenaw County. There is also a divide in reading levels. The Ann Arbor-based Children’s Literacy Network is working to close the reading gap. Eastern Michigan University students were given the opportunity to create a radio reporting project as a final class project. The project was guided and directed by professor Dr. Sadaf Ali in partnership with WEMU. This is the work of Nora Gibson. She chose to take a close look at EMU’s Halle Library.

This past weekend, YpsiWrites hosted "A Great Day in Ypsi." The event, which celebrates Ypsilanti writers and storytellers, was inspired by Art Kane's "A Great Day in Harlem" photograph and by the book "Sweet Music of Harlem" by local author Debbie Taylor. Taylor joined Rylee Barnsdale to discuss the event and how it can inspire more Ypsilanti stories and storytellers.
